Filmistaan Review

Disclaimer : Spoiler Alerts

This is a post for all the movie lovers in India.
Want a movie which has an insane lot of dialogues from all the old movies and the new like "meine pyaar kiya" or "dabaang"? Want a movie that makes you laugh so hard that your stomach hurts? Want a movie that is satirical yet funny? Well if the answer to all the questions above is
YES then you should definitely watch Fimistaan!

The newly released Filmistaan has become the talk of B-town.. Directed by Nitin Kakkar this film truly captures the relationship between India and Pakistan. Even though the mocie is made on a low budget it is absolutely amazing and a must watch!

The story is about a Mumbai based affable Bollywood buff and wannabe actor Sunny (Sharib Hashmi). He gives multiple auditions but never gets a role and therefore desperate to earn some cash the job of an Assistant Director and goes to Rajasthan to work with an American crew.

While working there one day a tourist group kidnaps him thinking he is an american. He is soon taken to Pakistan and finds himself amidst guns, terrorists and pathani clad guards who decide to keep him as hostage to ask for their demands from the Indian government. The house in which he is kept hostage belongs to a Pakistani, Aftaab ( Inaamulhaq) who earns his living through selling pirated Hindi films, which he brings back as he crosses the border. As soon as both start to talk they realise that they both share a human and cultural bond. the two despite their different nations become close and Aftaab helps him esccape Pakistan and return to India.

The movie shows how cinema can be  the universal panacea for co-existence. How it can bring two different people together in a bond stronger than ever. Altogether an amazing movie and surely a must watch for everyone. It will touch your heart as well as make you hold your stomach and laugh.

I think my favourite dialogue from the movie was when Sunny says "Mujhe kese pata chalega ki yeh Pakistan hai ki India. Shakal same hai, khana same hai, sab kuch toh same hai difference kahan hai" ( "how can I know this is Pakistan or India? The faces are same. the food is the same, everything is same. Where is the difference?")
Touching isn't it? So go and see the movie or just download it and yeah
